In many of the gospels Jesus tells His disciples “What is impossible for people is possible with God.” Man lives in the realm of possibility, God operates in the realm of impossibility. if it’s possible, do it. If it’s impossible, trust God to do it. I have heard it said that God doesn’t ask us to do the easy and the possible. He only asks us to do the hard and the impossible. That way we have to rely on Him.
I have started living my life by making lists of impossible things to attempt for God. Alice in “Alice in Wonderland” says “Why sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” We ought to wake up each day prepared to let God work the impossible in our lives.
We had a preschool/nursery leaders meeting Sunday and I encouraged our team to start a list that we could believe for in our ministry. Don’t let your budget be your limit. Don’t let how many workers you currently have limit you. I have made a list of where I would put 200 children’s workers if they showed up ready to serve tomorrow. I also write down how I would spend $1,000,000 if it was gifted to the ministry. I know it’s impossible, but then when it happens it will surely be God.
