Philippians 4:8 in the New Living Translation says
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Now I’m sure you’re wondering why I posted the above video with that scripture. You see I think bad thoughts are a lot like bird poop. You see that reporter is a lot like me sometimes. I will be minding my own business and a bad thought comes along “SPLAT”. I can’t stop the bad thoughts from coming no more than that reporter could have stopped that bird from pooping.
I tell you this much, that reporter didn’t leave that poop on his shoulder. He washed it off. We have to do the same with bad thoughts. Wrong thinking is just plain gross to God. In Romans 12:2 we are told to let God change us by changing the way we think. That means we have got to clean off bad thoughts just like we would bird poop. Don’t let them build up on you. Philippians 4:8 proves to us that this is possible because it tells us to “fix out thoughts”. It never tells us to do something that isn’t possible.
