I meet people all the time who seem to get more excited to go way out of their way than they are to do the right thing routinely. Obviously we can all get tired of the mundane. We can all grow weary of the same over and over again.
If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

Too many times people seem to be willing to do the things that are above and beyond in ministry without doing the things that are baseline. We want the extraordinary and think we can skip the ordinary. We want the supernatural and ignore the natural.
The every day, ordinary, common, baseline, and natural things are the building blocks of lasting success. It’s harder to remain faithful over the long haul than it is to do something big and flashy every so often. The fruit of faithfulness fulfills us in the long term. Steadiness sustains us over the years.
So stay faithful day in and day out. Give daily. Be generous. Serve others. Don’t grow weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9). Show up to grow up. Keep at it. Stay strong. Be consistent. Be trustworthy. There are no get rich schemes in God’s kingdom.
