7 Examples Of Leadership From the Apostle Paul

1. He obeyed God’s instructions.

He went to Ananias’ house upon direction. Later in life he went exactly where he was lead of the Spirit. Obedience is better than sacrifice and faith without works is dead. “Thus saith the Lord” works everytime. -Brother Jim

2. What He did scared some people.

When he started preaching, folks got scared. Your vision needs to be so big that it scares someone, even if its just you.

3. He got alone with God.

We are told he went to the desert of Arabia for three years. He wasn’t sightseeing, he was getting a revelation of who Christ was and who he was “In Christ”. His writings show he had a revelation direct from heaven. Keep God at the top of your priority pyramid.

4. He did not do it alone.

He served and went through various ministry coworkers, but he was never recorded as doing it alone.

5. He wasn’t afraid of rocking the boat by doing what he knew was right.

He faced opposition from rulers, unbelievers, Jews, and Judaizers within the faith.

6. He had to depend on God.

If you can do what you’re doing without God, its not for God. In 2 Timothy 4:16,17 Paul described the point where all people abandoned him in his time of need. He didn’t hold it against them and almost rejoiced because He said Jesus Himself took up His defense.

7. He would not quit.

Read 2 Corinthians 11:23-28 (NLT):

23 Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.

Just reading that some of us are ready to quit. He did not quit. Whatever we are facing, I am sure it pales in comparison to this list.
